Liebherr-Werk Ehingen has celebrated a major achievement with the delivery of its 50,000th mobile crane. The milestone unit, an LTM 1300-6.4, was handed over in early November to BKL Baukran Logistik, underscoring more than five decades of continuous growth and innovation at the Ehingen plant.

Founded in 1969, the facility has steadily expanded its production output. The 20,000th crane was completed in 2006, followed by the 30,000th in 2014. Just six years later, the 40,000 mark was reached, and now, five years on, Liebherr celebrates its 50,000th mobile crane.

BKL representatives Robert Popp, Managing Director of Technology, and Tizian Ochmann, Head of the Frankfurt site, accepted the anniversary crane in Ehingen. “We have a long-standing and successful partnership with Liebherr,” Popp said. “We are delighted to take delivery of this special crane and congratulate Liebherr on this significant milestone.”

The LTM 1300-6.4 will replace an LTM 1300-6.2 at BKL Frankfurt. With a 90-metre telescopic boom, the 300-tonne model is ideal for inner-city operations such as assembling tower cranes without additional boom extensions. Introduced in spring 2024, it features a redesigned cab, the new LICCON3 control system and enhanced driver assistance technologies.

BKL Frankfurt already operates several LICCON3 cranes, including the LTM 1100-5.3 and LTM 1110-5.2, alongside modern Liebherr mobile construction cranes such as the new MK 120-5.1E.

Since shifting its full focus to mobile crane production in 1980, Liebherr Ehingen has built the foundation for its global market leadership. Today, the plant produces around 2,000 mobile cranes annually.
