Dornseiff Autokrane und Schwertransporte has further strengthened its fleet with the addition of another Tadano AC 3.045-1 City crane. The Olpe-based site manager, Anja Reger, together with crane operator Marco Wöltering, collected the new unit in Lauf, where Tadano Sales Manager Helge Prüfer handled the handover.
The acquisition came as part of a practical trade-in deal: Dornseiff exchanged its older AC 40 City, which Tadano will refurbish and resell. “We’ve had three AC 3.045-1 City cranes in operation for some time and have been very satisfied. Trading in the older unit for a new one was the logical step,” said Reger.
To ensure maximum flexibility, the new crane was delivered with the same configuration as the others in the fleet. This includes a three-sheave 1.2-meter runner, a 15-tonne boom head traverse, a 25-tonne hook traverse, and a 32-3/16/D hook block – making the units interchangeable across projects.
The AC 3.045-1 City will be used primarily for indoor operations such as installing overhead cranes and relocating machinery. Its compact design and maneuverability make it ideal for tight workspaces, low ceiling heights, and restricted access where conventional all-terrain cranes struggle.
“This crane is unbeatable in confined environments,” Reger emphasized. “While many mobile cranes reach their limits indoors, the Tadano City crane continues to deliver excellent performance.”
