TSL Australia Handles Oversized Breakbulk Discharge at Port Kembla

Rate this post

In late July, TSL Australia successfully completed the discharge of 12 oversized breakbulk units at Port Kembla. The cargo, shipped from Phu My, Vietnam on a part-charter vessel, measured a total of 2,400 cbm, with individual units reaching up to 7 metres in height and width, and the heaviest weighing 52 metric tonnes.

The exceptional dimensions required over-height port access, specialised rigging, and precise vessel-to-truck coordination. During operations, pontoons were repositioned and rigging methods adapted in real time — all without interrupting the discharge process.

The operation concluded in just 15 hours, with the final lift placed on the quay. Seven units were delivered directly the same day, while four tank sections were secured overnight before being transported the following morning.

This achievement highlights TSL Australia’s expertise in handling complex oversized cargo and delivering seamless logistics under demanding conditions.
