Belgian logistics giant Katoen Natie has placed an order for four all-electric Konecranes Gottwald mobile harbor cranes to enhance operations at the Port of Antwerp. The order, confirmed in Q1 2025, includes a 10-year service agreement, with delivery expected in Q1 2026.
The order includes two ESP.9 cranes with a 200-tonne lifting capacity each and two ESP.8 cranes capable of lifting 150 tonnes each. The cranes feature an all-electric drive system, reducing emissions while optimizing energy efficiency.
“Katoen Natie selected Konecranes Gottwald cranes after a detailed market evaluation. Their all-electric drive technology aligns with our sustainability goals while delivering top performance,” said Tom Brouwers, Energy Manager at Katoen Natie.
To ensure efficiency and reliability, the cranes will be equipped with TRUCONNECT remote monitoring and predictive maintenance services. This investment aligns with Konecranes’ Ecolifting initiative, supporting the shift toward low-emission port operations.
