Kran Völkl has expanded its fleet with a second Liebherr LTM 1150-5.3 mobile crane, continuing its investment programme to modernise operations and meet growing demand across the construction and industrial sectors.
The 150 tonne crane joins an LTC 1050-3.1 and another LTM 1150-5.3 purchased around two years ago. With a 12 tonne axle load, the crane can travel on public roads carrying nine tonnes of counterweight, allowing many lifting operations to be completed without the need for an additional ballast transport vehicle.
“We are extremely satisfied with our first LTM 1150-5.3 – the investment has absolutely paid off, both technically and economically. That is why we opted for the same model, with identical specifications,” said Daniel Völkl Fischl, Deputy Managing Director of Kran Völkl.
The new crane is equipped with a hydraulic double folding jib, second hoist, radio remote control, boom camera, aluminium wheels and an extensive LED lighting package. Despite carrying nine tonnes of ballast together with a second hoist and a three roller hook block, the crane still retains around 400 kg of payload within the maximum gross vehicle weight.
Kran Völkl will use the LTM 1150-5.3 for construction projects, industrial lifting, precast concrete installation and recovery operations. The company’s fleet now includes 13 cranes, with Liebherr machines forming a significant part of its lifting capacity.
Founded in 1932, the family owned company employs around 30 people and continues to invest in fleet renewal and long term growth. Over the past two years, it has purchased four new cranes, three replacing existing units and one expanding the fleet.
