AAL Shipping has strengthened its credentials in the heavy-lift and project cargo sector with the successful certification of ISO 27001, the internationally recognised standard for information security management systems.
The certification adds a further layer to AAL’s integrated QHSE management framework, which already includes ISO 9001 for quality management, ISO 45001 for occupational health and safety, ISO 14001 for environmental management and ISO 50001 for energy management.
Together, the certifications reinforce a broad assurance framework covering vessel operations, crew welfare, environmental performance, energy efficiency and now digital security.
Mohammad Fadzil, QHSE manager at AAL Shipping, said achieving ISO 27001 alongside its existing certifications highlights the carrier’s commitment to operational excellence and protecting both cargo and critical project information.
For the heavy-lift and project logistics sector, where complex cargo movements often involve sensitive engineering data and extensive digital collaboration, information security is becoming an increasingly important part of risk management.
The new certification ensures operational data, project documentation and digital exchanges are managed with the same discipline applied to AAL’s physical cargo operations, supporting reliability and customer confidence.
