Liebherr has partnered with Tenstar Simulation to advance tower crane operator training through simulator-based solutions.
The agreement, signed at Conexpo, expands Liebherr’s collaboration with Tenstar and reflects a broader push to improve training efficiency, safety and accessibility across the construction sector.
With the industry facing ongoing challenges in recruiting and qualifying skilled crane operators, simulator-based training is gaining traction as a practical alternative to traditional methods. It allows trainees to develop core lifting skills and site awareness in a controlled, risk-free environment before operating real machines.
The Tenstar simulator replicates the behaviour and control systems of Liebherr tower cranes in a realistic 4D environment, reducing the need for extensive on-site training while lowering costs. Initial training modules focus on the Liebherr 370 EC-B and Liebherr 620 HC-L, both widely used in construction and infrastructure projects worldwide.
The platform is modular and scalable, allowing additional crane models and training scenarios to be integrated over time. It also supports multi-machine environments, enabling coordinated team training that mirrors real construction site conditions.
