YILNAK & Mağdenli Transport has successfully completed the transport and installation of a tunnel boring machine (TBM) for the Babakaya Irrigation Tunnel Project in Turkey.

Part of the wider Silvan Dam development, the project plays a key role in strengthening regional irrigation capacity and infrastructure. The operation required a fully integrated logistics solution, covering all stages from port discharge to final on-site installation.

The transport route extended from Mersin Port to Silvan in the Diyarbakır province, presenting both logistical and technical challenges. YILNAK & Mağdenli managed the entire process, including port handling, route planning, heavy haulage and lifting operations, under a single coordinated structure.

In total, 123 cargo units were delivered across 46 heavy transport movements, all completed according to schedule and under strict safety standards.

The operation involved high-capacity equipment, including 500-ton and 250-ton mobile cranes, a 110-ton HIUP unit, and hydraulic modular trailer systems for transporting oversized TBM components. Detailed engineering planning ensured precise load distribution, safe lifting configurations and efficient execution throughout.

The core transport and lifting scope has now been completed, with on-site crane operations continuing to support the next installation phases.

This project underlines the increasing importance of integrated logistics models in large-scale infrastructure developments, where transport, lifting and installation are delivered seamlessly. For YILNAK & Mağdenli, the successful execution further strengthens its position in complex infrastructure and energy projects requiring coordinated, engineering-led solutions.
