Trelleborg Sealing Solutions has broken ground on a new manufacturing facility in Bengaluru, India, marking a significant expansion of its regional capabilities and increasing production capacity by 30%.
The greenfield development will span 50,000 sqm and is scheduled for completion in 2027. For the first time, the site will bring together manufacturing, R&D, application engineering, customer support, supply chain operations and global IT services under one roof.
Trelleborg has operated in Bengaluru since 2005, steadily growing its presence by serving both local and international markets. The new facility reflects rising demand, India’s strategic role in global supply chains, and the company’s continued investment in localisation and engineering support.
The 30,000 sqm production area will cover a broad portfolio, including PTFE components, rotary shaft seals, mechanical face seals and polyurethane solutions, supporting industries such as automotive, aerospace, construction, energy and industrial automation.
A dedicated R&D centre will feature advanced materials and testing laboratories, enabling faster product development and in-depth analysis aligned with customer requirements. The facility will operate under internationally recognised certifications, including AS/EN 9100, IATF 16949 and ISO standards.

The investment is expected to create hundreds of jobs while setting new benchmarks in safety, energy efficiency and environmental performance.
