Cavotec has signed an order worth approximately €2 million for its MoorMaster NxG automated vacuum mooring technology from Danish ferry operator Molslinjen A/S. The systems will be installed at the ports of Odden and Aarhus, supporting the operation of high-capacity battery-powered catamarans on one of Denmark’s busiest ferry routes.
The MoorMaster NxG system will fully automate vessel mooring, keeping the electric ferries precisely positioned during port calls. This enables fast and reliable shore connection and charging, a critical factor in the efficient operation of electrified ferry services and an important step toward decarbonised maritime transport.
Delivery of the systems is scheduled for the third quarter of 2027.
Commenting on the order, David Pagels, CEO of Cavotec, said: “We are proud to continue our collaboration with Molslinjen. This order reflects the important role of automated mooring in the electrification of ferry operations. By enabling fast and reliable charging, MoorMaster contributes directly to more sustainable maritime transport, both for Molslinjen and for Denmark.”
The agreement further strengthens Cavotec’s long-standing partnership with Molslinjen. MoorMaster systems are already in operation at several Danish ports, including Ballen, Kalundborg, Spodsbjerg, Taars, Bøjden and Fynshav, demonstrating the growing adoption of automated mooring solutions across ferry operations.
