LiftEx 2025 returned to Liverpool with a packed show floor featuring more than 100 exhibitors presenting the latest in lifting, rigging, and height-safety technologies. Headline Sponsor RiConnect, alongside Yoke and Hoist, helped energise an event that highlighted how digitalisation, competence, and innovation are reshaping the industry.

LEEA delivered key updates through presentations from Project Officer Adam Chipperfield and Director of Membership Matt Barber, who outlined the association’s evolving member assessment approach. The exhibition theatre also showcased groundbreaking technologies, including Van Beest’s ROV Pro Shank Hook and RiConnect’s RFID-enabled systems that enhance asset traceability through Digital Product Passports. G2 Ocean and Onix explored digital compliance in maritime lifting, while YOKE and CheckedOK demonstrated smart solutions for safer, more efficient operations.

Future-focused sessions featured exoskeleton innovations from Spanset and Auxivo, highlighting how wearable support systems can improve worker wellbeing. Core Inspection Software revealed how its platform cuts reporting times dramatically, and the BUDDIE SYSTEM was introduced as a wireless instant alert device for crane operators. Additional insights covered inspection workflows from Motion Software and rope-inspection advancements by Bekaert.

A dedicated safety session examined real-world examples of equipment misuse, with experts from pewag, Modulift, Load Monitoring Systems and Aberdeen Web offering practical steps to strengthen safety culture.

The Thought Leadership Conference opened with LEEA CEO Ross Moloney emphasising the value of investing in skills, followed by Kito Crosby’s Wim Fabricius on building strong teams. Further topics included the Digital Product Passport, subsea load-handling innovations, HS2’s tunnel-boring machine extraction, and regulatory updates on the Machinery Directive and LOLER review. Market insights from GlobalData pointed toward renewed construction growth in 2026, illustrated by mega-projects such as Saudi Arabia’s 1,000-metre Jeddah Tower.
