The long-established Swiss family-run company JMS RISI AG has recently expanded its fleet with three modern construction machines from Liebherr. At the “Bauma” construction machinery exhibition in Munich, the company secured an LTM 1100-5.3 mobile crane, an LB 45 drilling rig and a 110 D-K crawler concrete pump. Following operator training and handover, all three units are now in operation.

Ehingen (Donau), Germany – 16 September 2025 – The first LTM 1100-5.3 mobile crane delivered to Switzerland has rolled out of Liebherr-Baumaschine AG in Reiden. Equipped with the new LICCON3 control system, the five-axle crane was officially handed over to JMS RISI AG, a specialist in civil engineering and deep foundations. “Our crane operators spent three days at Liebherr learning the equipment,” said Werner Brunner, construction manager at JMS RISI. The crane’s debut assignment was in Hagendorn, Zug canton, where it is being used exclusively on in-house projects including loading, unloading, lifting ships and pontoons.

Meanwhile, the LB 45 drilling rig has been deployed on a major project near Laufenburg on the Swiss-German border. There, JMS RISI is constructing pile walls of up to 32 metres deep and 1.2 metres in diameter as part of a vast technology centre that will include a large-scale battery storage facility and an AI data centre. “Our LB 45 is working alongside an LRB 355 and an HS 850 from Liebherr,” explained construction manager Daniel Schuler.

JMS RISI, employing around 370 staff across Switzerland, is one of the country’s largest specialists in deep foundations, demolition, transport, and hydraulic engineering. The company has relied increasingly on Liebherr machinery in recent years for its most demanding projects.
