Dutch crane hire company Gebri successfully deployed its new Liebherr LTR 1150 telescopic crawler crane on a complex residential project in Alphen aan den Rijn, completing a 48-apartment building in just seven weeks — right on schedule.
Located between Amsterdam and Rotterdam, the tight construction site offered minimal space, flanked by a narrow road and a harbour basin. The LTR 1150’s mobility and compact footprint made it the ideal solution, especially where larger tower or mobile cranes were impractical.

With a lifting capacity of 150 tonnes and a telescopic boom extending to 52 metres, the crane handled prefabricated elements weighing up to 13 tonnes with ease. “We managed up to 100 lifts per day,” said crane operator Maichel van Vliet of Meijmat B.V. “From walls to floors and ceiling panels — everything was done efficiently and smoothly.”

The project marked van Vliet’s first time operating the LTR 1150. His verdict: “A great crane — powerful, agile, and easy to transport. It’s headed to the next project straight away.”

Gebri, founded in 2018 by Gerhan and Henk van de Brink, operates a modern fleet of 50 cranes, including 15 telescopic crawler models. Based in Barneveld, the company provides rental services across Europe and beyond — from the Netherlands and Belgium to Spain, Chile, and the UK.

According to Gerhan van de Brink, the LTR 1150 will be used on a variety of future projects, including precast construction and dredger assembly.
