Broshuis has once again been selected by the Belgian Defense to supply trailers for its Protected Evacuation Vehicles (PEV), reinforcing a partnership that began in 2022. In collaboration with DAF, the company will provide trailers for 13 additional PEV combinations, building on the earlier order of nine units.
The PEV is a critical vehicle designed to recover immobilised army equipment in demanding environments. With safety and efficiency as top priorities, the vehicles must perform reliably in off-road and unprepared terrain.
For this latest order, Broshuis will deliver 13 three-axle extendable low loaders equipped with PL2 pendle axles and a hydraulically detachable STANAG gooseneck. This configuration ensures maximum flexibility and manoeuvrability, even in the toughest operating conditions.
The decision follows years of rigorous testing. Between 2022 and 2024, Broshuis prototypes underwent extreme trials, including off-road routes, fording, and heavy field conditions. The trailers consistently proved their durability and reliability, which secured the first contract and has now led to this expanded agreement.
This follow-up order underscores the confidence Belgian Defense places in Broshuis’ technology and expertise. It also strengthens Broshuis’ role in supporting the army’s operational readiness and safety.
Delivery of the new PEV combinations is expected in the near future.
