Doosan Bobcat has officially opened eFORCE LAB., a new research and development center dedicated to next-generation battery pack technologies for compact and construction equipment.
Launched on 26 August in Indeokwon, Anyang-si, Gyeonggi Province, South Korea, the facility will act as a global hub for advancing standardized and modular battery solutions. The name combines “e” for electrification, energy, and eco-friendly with “Force,” highlighting its mission to drive innovation in electrified equipment.
The inauguration brought together senior leadership, including Scott Park, CEO and Vice Chairman of Doosan Bobcat, and Hyungwon (HW) Park, President of Doosan Bobcat ALAO. Executives outlined the vision of positioning eFORCE LAB. at the forefront of global battery pack development.
Doosan Bobcat began laying the foundation for its battery pack business in 2023. Its first in-house Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) battery packs were deployed in Bobcat forklifts in late 2024, with more than 100 units already shipped.
The center’s first official project is the Bobcat Standard Unit Pack (BSUP), a modular system designed like building blocks. This flexible battery solution enables users to scale capacity by stacking units, initially for forklifts, with future applications in loaders, excavators, and other machines.
“Electrification is an inevitable future—it’s already transforming the construction industry,” said CEO Scott Park. “With eFORCE LAB. as our R&D hub, we are developing solutions that meet the tough demands of construction while setting new standards for the sector.”
