Liebherr’s latest partnership with Green Energy Resources marks a significant move into one of India’s busiest dry bulk terminals, Vizag Port. With berth EQ1A under intense operational pressure, Liebherr’s delivery of two fully assembled LHM 550 mobile harbour cranes showcases its capability to meet tight berth constraints and rapid deployment needs.

Tailored for bulk handling, the LHM 550 features a four-rope grab system and a 124-tonne safe working load, optimised to reduce cycle times and maximise cargo flow. The electric drive system enhances energy efficiency, while integrated overpressure units protect components from abrasive dust and coastal humidity—crucial for Indian port conditions.

The new cranes will allow us to improve turnaround times and meet growing customer demands with greater efficiency,” said Siddharth Saxena of Green Energy Resources.

Deployed fully assembled, the cranes will be operational within days of arrival—minimising disruption and supporting high berth utilisation. Their modular control systems simplify training and maintenance, while remote diagnostics and regional support ensure long-term reliability.

This investment not only enhances Green Energy Resources’ throughput but also supports future growth by enabling more flexible vessel scheduling and cargo handling. The sustainable configuration aligns with tightening environmental regulations and the company’s broader infrastructure strategy.

“We work closely with our customers to ensure every installation supports long-term goals,” said Andreas Ritschel, General Manager Sales, Liebherr-Rostock GmbH.
