Tadano Ltd. has announced the successful acquisition of the transportation systems business of IHI Transport Machinery Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of IHI Corporation.

To facilitate the transfer, a new entity, IUK Crane Ltd., was established on February 17, 2025. On July 1, Tadano acquired 100% of IUK Crane’s shares, making it a wholly owned subsidiary. The company will be renamed Tadano Infrastructure Solutions Ltd., with Tadano’s President and CEO, Toshiaki Ujiie, also taking on the role of President for the new subsidiary.

The acquisition aligns with Tadano’s Mid-Term Management Plan and strengthens its position as a comprehensive lifting solutions provider. The newly integrated business brings over 50 years of engineering expertise in Jib Climbing Cranes, Port and Large Offshore Cranes, Wind Power Cranes, and Bulk Handling Systems. These offerings complement Tadano’s existing portfolio, including its German-produced lattice boom crawler cranes, and further support customers across sectors such as construction, ports and offshore, wind energy, and general industrial applications.

The completion of this acquisition is a key step in expanding our capabilities in the global lifting equipment market,” said Mr. Ujiie.By integrating this business into our group, we are better positioned to meet the evolving needs of our customers and create long-term value.”

The acquisition cost is approximately 15.3 billion yen, though the final figure is subject to adjustment under the share transfer agreement.
