Volvo Penta UK & Ireland has appointed SMT GB as an official dealer for its Industrial division, marking a major step in enhancing service delivery and customer support across Great Britain. The partnership is part of Volvo Penta’s long-term strategy to build a future-focused, high-performance dealer network.

The collaboration will focus on delivering aftermarket services, including sales of parts, labour, and warranty support for both new and existing customers. Initially centred on service and support, the partnership will evolve to meet the growing demand for diesel, electric, and hybrid power solutions.

“By aligning with partners who share our vision for operational excellence, we’re strengthening our customer offering across the lifecycle of our products,” said Tim Barclay, Director Service Market Industrial, Volvo Penta UK & Ireland.

Nick Allen, CEO of SMT GB, added: “This is more than an expansion of our service portfolio—it’s a strategic evolution. Volvo Penta’s engines are trusted globally, and bringing them into our fold enables us to deliver even greater value.”

The partnership taps into SMT GB’s broad geographic presence, with support centres across Scotland, South Wales, the Midlands, and the Southwest. A strong network of engineers ensures responsive and expert service throughout the country.

Jon Taylor, Business Development Manager, Volvo Penta UK & Ireland, emphasised the importance of partnering with dealers with technical depth and proven reliability. “SMT GB is well-positioned to support our mission of future-proofing industrial power solutions.”

There will be no disruption to existing services during the transition. Customers can expect enhanced availability, reduced downtime, and a more connected service experience—setting the stage for continued growth in the UK industrial sector.
