Scania has unveiled its latest innovation, the Super 11 engine — a compact, lightweight, and high-performance solution designed to meet the demands of energy-efficient and weight-sensitive transport operations.
Positioned between Scania’s 9-litre and 13-litre platforms, the Super 11 delivers up to 7% better fuel efficiency compared to the 9-litre engine and weighs 85 kg less than the Super 13. It comes in three power ratings: 350, 390, and 430 hp, and meets Euro 4, 5, and 6 emissions standards.
“This engine opens new possibilities for energy-efficient and cost-effective transport,” says Ayyoob Zarmehri, Product Manager at Scania. “It’s lighter, leaner, and more flexible – the smart choice for balancing performance, payload, and sustainability.”
Sharing 85% of its parts with the proven Super 13, the Super 11 benefits from extended service intervals (up to 30% longer than the 9-litre) and cutting-edge features like Scania’s Variable Valve Brake, cam phaser technology for real-time thermal management, and turbo dosing for improved AdBlue efficiency.
Compatible with renewable fuels like HVO and FAME, the Super 11 also supports cleaner operations from day one. It’s ideal for diverse applications, including bulk transport, fuel delivery, refuse collection, and emergency services.
Available from June 2025, the Super 11 marks a new era in Scania’s powertrain portfolio — combining durability, efficiency, and innovation in one powerful package.
