Eiffage, through its subsidiary Eiffage Construcción, in consortium with Acciona, has won a €83.2 million contract to design and build the new Madring urban Formula 1 circuit in Madrid. Eiffage’s share of the project amounts to €33.3 million.

Backed by IFEMA Madrid, the project will be located in the northeast of the capital and includes the complete provision of temporary infrastructure. This encompasses the construction, assembly, dismantling, and full restoration of public roads and utilities after each race, as well as the creation of new roads and sports event facilities.

The consortium has committed to strong environmental standards. Around 700,000 m³ of soil from earthworks will be reused—60% directly on the site and 40% recycled elsewhere. To further reduce the environmental footprint, the project will use Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil (HVO) instead of traditional fossil fuels for construction machinery, apply photocatalytic road surfaces to reduce gas emissions from vehicles, and implement a sustainable urban drainage system that promotes rainwater infiltration and replenishment of water tables. The plan also includes the transplantation of 583 trees and the installation of 4,259 m² of mobile noise-reduction barriers, particularly in sensitive areas like Avenida de Dublín and the Valdebebas district.

Construction is scheduled to begin in April 2026 and will be completed in time for the Spanish Grand Prix that same summer.
