A major step forward in heavy transport for offshore wind turbine construction was marked at bauma 2025, as DENZAI officially became the first company worldwide to introduce the Cometto MSPE 60t (6/4/4) Self-Propelled Modular Transporter.
At the signing ceremony held on April 8, 2025, during the international construction machinery trade fair in Munich, Germany, DENZAI Founder Yukihiro Uemura and President and CEO Kohki Uemura were joined by representatives from the Faymonville Group, including Managing Director Alain Faymonville and CEO Alexander Fickers. The milestone marks the beginning of a new era in self-propelled transport capabilities tailored to the demands of offshore wind logistics.

DENZAI is acquiring 18 units of the 6-axle MSPE 60t (6/4/4) modular trailers, totalling 108 axles, as well as four 390kW power pack units. These SPMTs are engineered to support the movement of ultra-heavy components weighing more than 5,000 tons, specifically within the limited space and demanding ground conditions of Japanese base ports.
The MSPE 60t is a compact yet powerful solution designed for maneuverability and adaptability. Its 60-ton per axle load capacity represents a notable leap from conventional 48-ton systems, offering enhanced performance on infrastructure with limited ground bearing capacity.

Adding to its efficiency and safety profile, the MSPE 60t features tubeless tires developed by Trelleborg, a subsidiary of Yokohama Rubber. These tires minimize the risk of blowouts while preserving port surfaces thanks to their low ground pressure.
DENZAI will configure 36 axles and one power pack specifically for use as a counterweight solution in combination with the company’s 2,500-ton capacity Liebherr LR12500 crawler crane. This will provide enhanced mobility and efficiency in offshore construction settings. Cometto conducted rigorous pre-deployment testing with Liebherr to validate performance. DENZAI now becomes the first company in the world to operate Cometto MSPEs in synchronized function with a Liebherr crane.
Kohki Uemura, President & CEO of DENZAI K.K., shared his thoughts on this collaboration: “The MSPE 60t we are introducing has been developed through over a year of close collaboration between engineers from the DENZAI Group and Cometto. It is a self-propelled modular transporter designed to meet the specifications of Japanese base ports and accommodate the transportation of increasingly large offshore wind turbine components.
“This new model increases the per-axle load capacity from the conventional 48 tons to 60 tons, and has been evolved and refined to perform effectively even in Japanese ports where ground bearing capacity is limited. We are truly honored to have played a role in the development of this new MSPE 60t and to be the first in the world to introduce it.”
Alexander Fickers, CEO of the Faymonville Group, also highlighted the strategic importance of this deployment: “We are proud that this Japanese family-owned company is building its future-oriented strategy on our transport equipment. Once again, this is a vote of confidence in the reliability and performance of Cometto SPMTs, providing the best foundation for future challenges. This innovation sets new safety and efficiency standards by enabling predictive maintenance, reducing tire wear, and minimizing downtime. By continuously monitoring pressure, it significantly enhances safety by lowering the risk of tire blowouts.”
Jeremy Keller, Head of Sales Export at the Faymonville Group, emphasized the strength of the long-term partnership: “The beginning of the co-operation between DENZAI and the Faymonville Group dates back more than 5 years. The certainty that these two market leaders in their industries would sooner or later begin a great partnership was there from the start. Our entire group is now proud and honoured to deepen our partnership with this major supply. This milestone underlines our shared commitment to innovation and quality in the heavy haulage sector.
“The new vehicles can be used for a wide range of applications – from large-scale infrastructure projects to the transport of complex industrial equipment. Thanks to their modular design and outstanding manoeuvrability, they are also used for offshore wind turbines, as in this case for DENZAI. The close cooperation between DENZAI and Cometto is based on trust, technological expertise and a common goal: to further develop heavy transport in Japan with state-of-the-art technology. With this investment, DENZAI is sending a clear signal for the future and further expanding its position as market leader – in close partnership with Cometto.”
