Engie Brasil has awarded Cobra Brasil (Cobra IS) a €150 million contract for the design and construction of seven high-voltage electricity transmission lines spanning 738 km. The 525 kV and 345 kV lines will connect the states of Minas Gerais, Paraná, and Santa Catarina, strengthening Brazil’s electricity network to accommodate the increasing flow of renewable energy.

The project, expected to create over 2,200 jobs, is part of Cobra Brasil’s ongoing efforts to enhance the country’s energy infrastructure. With this new contract, the company is now responsible for constructing 2,400 km of high-voltage lines across multiple Brazilian states.

Over the past two decades, Cobra IS has successfully built more than 30,000 km of high-voltage transmission lines in Brazil through public-private partnerships.
