Otis Worldwide Corporation, one of the global leaders in elevator and escalator manufacturing, has been selected to install lifts on three Royal Navy vessels as part of the United Kingdom’s Fleet Solid Support (FSS) project. These support ships will play a crucial role in delivering munitions, supplies, and provisions while at sea.
Otis will equip each ship with eight cargo lifts, primarily designed to transport provisions and stores efficiently. Six of these lifts will be certified for ATEX Zone 2, ensuring safety in areas where explosive atmospheres may occasionally occur. Additionally, all lifts will feature watertight doors and enhanced durability to withstand challenging sea conditions.
