Victaulic, one of the leaders in mechanical pipe joining, has played a pivotal role in the construction of Plot 9A, a 10-storey office building in Manchester, UK. Managed by BAM and with building services from Briggs & Forrester, the project showcases the company’s advanced solutions, ensuring efficiency, safety, and sustainability.
Set to be operational in 2025, Victaulic was involved early in the process, establishing a strong partnership with subcontractor WHB. The project benefits from Victaulic’s QuickVic™ V-range fittings, which provide a flame-free, fast, and reliable installation for the building’s heating and chilled pipework systems. These fittings reduce material handling and installation time, making the process quicker and safer.

The use of Victaulic’s grooved piping solutions allowed WHB to complete the pipework in just two months, a task that would have taken much longer with traditional flame-based methods. The system’s ease of installation, with simple grooved pipe connections and mechanical couplings, contributed significantly to meeting tight construction deadlines.
Sustainability was a core focus of the project, and Victaulic’s solutions align with the eco-friendly design of Plot 9A, which has earned a 5.5-star NABERS rating. Victaulic’s products, made from up to 98% recycled materials, support net-zero goals while reducing transportation emissions.
