Konecranes has finalized the acquisition of Kocks Kranbau, a German crane and service provider, expanding its reach to new European and global markets. The deal, closed in April, marks a strategic move for Konecranes, although the financial terms of the transaction remain undisclosed.
Established in early 2023 following the insolvency of its parent company, Kocks Ardelt Kranbau GmbH, Kocks Kranbau GmbH operates primarily in Bremen, Hamburg, and Oberhausen. Despite its relatively recent inception, the acquired business has demonstrated consistent annual net sales of approximately EUR 10-12 million and maintained profitability.
With this acquisition, Konecranes gains access to Kocks Kranbau’s workforce of nearly 60 employees and taps into the extensive installed base of Kocks Ardelt Kranbau across Germany, Europe, and globally.
Paolo Dazi, Senior Vice President of Port Services at Konecranes, expressed confidence in the synergy between Kocks Kranbau’s expertise and customer relations and Konecranes’ Port Services division. Dazi believes that the combined strengths will enhance Konecranes’ position as a leading global service provider in the port sector.
