Vestas has secured a significant 135 MW order to power an undisclosed wind project in the USA. The order comprises 30 state-of-the-art V163-4.5 MW turbines, which represent Vestas’ latest high-capacity factor technology. The entire project has been developed by Steelhead Americas, Vestas’ North American development arm.
This comprehensive order encompasses the supply, delivery, and commissioning of the turbines. In addition, there is a 20-year Active Output Management 5000 (AOM 5000) service agreement, strategically designed to ensure the optimized performance and longevity of the asset.
Steelhead Americas has taken the lead in all development aspects, including permitting, land acquisition, and construction design. This holistic approach underscores the company’s heightened focus on project development in key markets. The end result is a project that is not only ready for construction but also installation, showcasing Steelhead Americas’ commitment to delivering a turnkey solution for the customer.
The timeline for this venture sees turbine delivery commencing in the third quarter of 2024, with commissioning scheduled for the following year in 2025.
