The 2023 ZPMC Smart Equipment and Technology Forum, a highly anticipated event, recently took place in Guangzhou, drawing over 400 experts from 36 countries and regions specializing in port equipment and offshore engineering. The forum aimed to explore the development trends in “high-end, smart, and green” equipment manufacturing within the port shipping and offshore industries.
Themed “Smart Green Future,” the forum comprised a main session and two sub-forums addressing “Intelligent and Green Port Equipment” and “Offshore Engineering Equipment and Intelligent Manufacturing.” Shanghai Zhenhua Heavy Industries Co., Ltd. (ZPMC) took center stage during the main forum, focusing on the theme of “Digitization” and showcasing the company’s journey in digitization across port machinery, intelligent manufacturing, turnkey automation terminal systems, and automation control technology.
ZPMC unveiled 14 new products in port machinery and offshore engineering, reinforcing its global leadership for 26 consecutive years. The product lineup included the next-generation horizontal transport trolley IGV, Model S-ASC high-speed automated rail-mounted gantry crane, self-balancing and lifting AB quay crane, eco-friendly and low-carbon lightweight quay crane, and bulk cargo handling automation systems. ZPMC also introduced innovative solutions such as a U-shaped dock loading and unloading system, the Portmanus terminal management system, and an automated empty container yard.
Notably, ZPMC presented the world’s largest self-propelled jack-up wind turbine installation platform, Asia’s first self-propelled offshore wind farm service operation vessel (SOV), floating wind turbine photovoltaic integration offshore engineering equipment, and the first set of wave compensation wharf in China, along with other core supporting components for offshore engineering.
In the “Building High Efficient, Green and Smart Terminals” high-level discussion segment, executives from prominent ports including Guangzhou Port, Ningbo Port, COSCO Shipping Ports, China Merchants Port Group, HPH, APMT, and DP World engaged in discussions on intelligent technologies, green energy adoption, carbon emissions reduction, and logistics efficiency improvement.
During the sub-forums, ZPMC delved into various topics such as automated horizontal transport systems, smart and eco-efficient port machinery, sustainable intelligent manufacturing practices, automated warehousing and logistics equipment technology, strategies for low-carbon port development, and innovations in offshore transportation and installation.
A significant milestone was celebrated at the forum with the rollout of ZPMC’s 10,000th international standard spreader, a crucial component in port loading and unloading processes. ZPMC’s container spreader products, with over 30 years of development, encompass a diverse range of over 200 models across 8 series, including single-box, double-box, hydraulic, and all-electric options
