Himoinsa Expands with New Facility for Lighting Towers and Battery

Himoinsa, a Yanmar Group company, has inaugurated a new 5,000 m² production facility in Spain, marking a strategic step in its growth plan. The facility will focus on manufacturing lighting towers and battery energy storage and distribution systems (BESS). This move aligns with Himoinsa,’s product segmentation strategy, reinforcing its commitment to electrification.

Francisco Gracia, President and CEO of Himoinsa,, emphasized the company’s dedication to its product strategy, with increased production capacity for lighting towers and a new center dedicated to battery-powered and hybrid systems. This facility is part of Himoinsa,’s broader electrification strategy, extending across its business units, including On Site, Power Solutions, and Telecom Power.

The new production center, part of Himoinsa,’s global network of nine facilities, showcases a commitment to sustainability. The company aims to provide sustainable solutions alongside traditional gas and diesel power generation systems. With a total production capacity of 7,000 units per year, the facility incorporates the latest technology to enhance product quality and optimize production processes.

The official opening event was attended by Himoinsa,’s Global Management Team and representatives from Yanmar Holdings. Tetsuya Yamamoto, COO of Yanmar Holdings, commended Himoinsa,’s quick response to industry needs and highlighted the positive impact on the Yanmar Group’s mission for a sustainable future.

Himoinsa,’s growth strategy positions it to lead the global lighting tower market. The new factory significantly increases production capacity in Europe, reflecting the company’s potential in the lighting tower sector. As part of its segmentation and growth strategy, Himoinsa, is recruiting Product Managers for different product segments.

José Cerezuela, Global Product Manager for lighting towers, anticipates the global market reaching $1.5 billion in 2027. Himoinsa,’s annual European production capacity is 5,000 units, with global capacity extending across Asia and America. The company aims to manufacture diesel, hybrid, and electric towers, focusing on innovation, connectivity, efficiency, and safety.

The new factory also emphasizes Himoinsa,’s commitment to electrification through energy storage and distribution systems. With a production capacity of 2,000 units per year, the facility currently manufactures EHR | Battery Power Generator models up to 60 kWh, with plans to produce models up to 300 kWh by the next year. The company’s development plan envisions units up to 2MW, demonstrating a strong commitment to its electrification strategy and environmental responsibility.
