Kalmar has entered into an agreement to acquire the product rights for Lonestar Specialty Vehicles’ (LSV) electric terminal tractor product line in the United States. LSV, known for developing turnkey electric vehicle solutions, will transfer immaterial assets to Kalmar and act as Kalmar’s contract manufacturing partner for these electric terminal tractors.
LSV, headquartered in Texarkana, Texas, has been a leader in the U.S. electric terminal tractor market since deploying its first electric tractor in November 2019.
Hermanni Lyyski, Vice President of Terminal Tractors at Kalmar, emphasized the growing demand for electric terminal tractors and Kalmar’s commitment to expanding its electric vehicle portfolio. The new electric terminal tractor product line will be named Kalmar TX and will complement Kalmar’s ongoing efforts to develop its third-generation electric terminal tractor for the global market, with a focus on the Americas region. The transaction is not expected to significantly impact Kalmar’s 2023 sales.
