Hareket Heavy Lifting and Project Transportation, a specialist in the heavy lifting and project transportation sectors for over 65 years, has been honored with the prestigious excellence award in the Lifting Capacity ≤ 120 tons category at the ESTA Awards of Excellence, presented by the European Association of Abnormal Road Transport and Mobile Cranes. This marks the second time that Hareket, the only Turkish company to receive this award, has brought this recognition to Turkey.
The award-winning project involved the Boğaziçi University/Hisarüstü-Aşiyan Funicular Line Project, which is utilized by thousands of Istanbul residents on a daily basis. Hareket executed all of the project’s engineering, lifting, transportation, and replacement operations. The project involved the installation of a series of 22-meter-long wagons, each weighing 23 tons, underground via a narrow shank. Hareket was responsible for all lifting, moving, and unloading associated with the project. The success of the project can be attributed to Hareket’s careful attention to detail, its expertise in engineering studies related to the funicular download operation in a confined area, and its more than 65 years of experience in the industry.
