Kalmar Wins Order for Two Electric Reachstackers in Helsingborg

The Port of Helsingborg has ordered two Kalmar electric reachstackers for delivery in Q2 2027, marking the first equipment purchase under a six-year framework agreement covering up to nine zero-emission machines.

The order also includes MyKalmar INSIGHT with the Inspector machine inspection solution, adding digital monitoring and maintenance support to the new equipment package.

Located on Sweden’s Øresund coast, Helsingborg is the country’s second-largest container port and a major multimodal hub connecting sea, road and rail transport.

The port already operates three Kalmar Eco Reachstackers and, in 2024, became the first Swedish port to order a Kalmar electric reachstacker.

“Ordering these first two units under our new framework agreement represents an important step in our transition towards lower-emission terminal operations,” said Christina Argelius, Chief Technical Officer at the Port of Helsingborg. “We are committed to replacing diesel machines in a structured and long-term way.”

The investment forms part of Helsingborg’s wider programme to progressively reduce emissions from cargo handling operations while modernising its terminal equipment fleet.

“Moving away from diesel gives terminals much more security when fuel costs are unpredictable,” said Eric Wass, Sales Representative at Kalmar Sweden.

The order was booked in Kalmar’s Q3 2026 intake.
