Huisman has officially become a member of the Port Equipment Manufacturers Association (PEMA), marking a significant step in its strategy to expand and innovate within the global port logistics sector.
With a history dating back to 1929, Huisman has established itself as a leading provider of advanced technology solutions for the renewable energy, oil and gas, and civil engineering sectors. Earlier in 2024, the company entered the port logistics market with the introduction of its Automated Stacking Cranes (ASCs) and Rail Mounted Gantry (RMG) Cranes, extending its long-standing expertise into a new arena.
“Joining PEMA aligns perfectly with our ambition to drive progress through innovation and partnerships,” said Mike van Wingerden, Product Director Port Cranes at Huisman. “We look forward to contributing to the association’s efforts in shaping the future of port logistics and supporting sustainable development across the industry.”
Through its membership, Huisman plans to engage in collaboration with other leading manufacturers, contribute technical knowledge, and support initiatives that enhance safety, sustainability, and efficiency in port and terminal operations. The company states it is ready to help tackle shared challenges and drive forward technology development in port equipment.
“We are delighted to welcome Huisman to PEMA,” said Achim Dries, President of PEMA. “Their expertise in heavy lifting and offshore solutions adds valuable perspective to our organisation and strengthens the collective voice in the industry.’’
