Lifting Gear Hire (LGH), one of the world’s largest dedicated lifting and moving equipment rental companies, has officially launched operations in Australia. Headquartered in Somersby, New South Wales, the new branch will initially serve the NSW region, with its fleet available nationwide.

The Australian division offers a wide range of rental equipment, including hoists, clamps, hydraulic jacks, slings, modular spreader beams, and general material handling gear. LGH aims to bring its renowned technical expertise, quality service, and reliable equipment to Australia’s key industries—construction, infrastructure, mining, energy, marine, and petrochemical.

Ian Parkinson, Chairman of LGH, described the move as the company’s most significant expansion since entering the U.S. market in 1990. “Australia’s strong industrial activity and commitment to health and safety make it a natural fit for LGH,” Parkinson said. “With robust investment in infrastructure, defence, and manufacturing, we’re confident we can support and grow with these sectors.”

The eight-member launch team will work closely with LGH’s trusted global suppliers, including Tiger Lifting, JD Neuhaus, and Modulift, and national partners SpanSet and Durapac. All have been chosen for their excellence in safety, innovation, and performance.

Parkinson added, “We would have loved to enter the Australian market sooner, but we waited for the right time and investment. With over 55 years of experience, LGH is ready to deliver the highest standards to Australian contractors and strengthen industry partnerships.”

The move solidifies LGH’s presence across four continents, underlining its commitment to international growth and leadership in lifting solutions.
