Irish Crane & Lifting has supplied six Raimondi MRT573 topless tower cranes to Walls Construction for a major mixed-use development in Rathborne, Dublin. Representing the heaviest lifters in the Irish Cranes fleet, the flat-top cranes will remain on site for around 24 months, supporting the construction of six buildings reaching up to 14 floors and housing approximately 700 residential units along with commercial space.
Robert Coffey, Director General at Irish Cranes, highlighted the firm’s enduring relationship with Walls Construction: “We’re proud to support this milestone project with six of the most powerful cranes in our fleet, ensuring high efficiency and precision in lifting operations.”

Selected for their high tip loads and robust performance, the Raimondi MRT573-24t cranes are particularly well-suited for precast construction. First unveiled at Bauma 2019, the MRT573 has proven its reliability and versatility, laying the groundwork for Raimondi’s next-generation T577, launched in early 2025.
Installed over six months, the cranes operate at freestanding heights of up to 72 metres with jib lengths of 40m to 50m and tip loads between 12.4t and 16.5t. Each crane features a 110kW hoist with a 1000m drum capacity and lifts at speeds up to 109m/min.

Due to the site’s proximity to residential zones and a railway station, advanced zoning and anti-collision systems have been implemented. Some units have also been de-rated to 75% of maximum capacity to meet safety regulations while maintaining performance.
“This project reflects growing demand for high-capacity tower cranes in complex, urban developments,” added Coffey. “With these MRT573s, Walls Construction is equipped to deliver with both safety and efficiency.”
