Palfinger has marked a significant milestone with the official opening of its expanded and modernized site in Löbau. The company’s substantial investments since 2021 have solidified its position as the foremost provider of access platforms worldwide. This strategic move underscores Palfinger’s commitment to leveraging digitalization and electrification to enhance the versatility and appeal of its products, thereby bolstering its business prospects.
The inauguration ceremony, attended by approximately 200 guests from various sectors including politics, industry, science, and education, highlighted the pivotal role of the Löbau site in Palfinger’s growth strategy. Alexander Susanek, Palfinger’s Chief Operating Officer, emphasized the site’s significance in realizing the company’s vision of establishing access platforms as a robust product line alongside its flagship loader crane offerings.
State Secretary Thomas Kralinski of the Saxon State Ministry for Economic Affairs, Labour, and Transport commended Palfinger’s dedication to regional growth, recognizing the company as a vital contributor to job creation and economic development in Upper Lusatia. He emphasized the site’s historical significance and its promising future, reflecting the resilience and dynamism of Saxony’s industrial landscape.
Over the past three years, Palfinger has invested over EUR 14 million in expanding the Löbau facility, transforming it into a state-of-the-art production center equipped with cutting-edge technology and infrastructure. The site now boasts a comprehensive range of facilities including a modern production hall, an in-house test area, a service center, and administrative offices. This expansion has resulted in a 20% increase in employment, with approximately 300 highly skilled professionals contributing to PALFINGER’s operations in Löbau.
Maria Koller, Palfinger’s Chief Human Resources Officer, underscored the site’s pivotal role within the company’s global network, emphasizing its contribution to knowledge sharing and innovation. The Löbau facility serves as a hub for assembling all four platform classes, ranging from the Light NX class to the Top class, with working heights spanning from 18 to 90 meters. Notably, the site specializes in the production of environmentally friendly and technologically advanced models such as the P 280 CK eDRIVE access platform.
With its expanded capacity and enhanced capabilities, the Löbau site is poised to drive Palfinger’s growth trajectory and reinforce its position as a key player in the European market. The site’s integration into Palfinger’s broader production and development network, which includes facilities in Italy and Austria, underscores the company’s commitment to operational excellence and customer satisfaction.
In addition to its Löbau facility, Palfinger maintains a robust presence in Germany with service centers located in Krefeld, Duisburg, Ilsfeld, and Hamburg. The company’s distribution center in Bremen, in collaboration with facilities in France and Austria, ensures efficient spare parts management, facilitating prompt service delivery across Europe. Moreover, Palfinger’s forthcoming flagship store in Poing near Munich signals its commitment to enhancing customer engagement and accessibility in the region.
