JSC Rikon has completed the delivery of the second and third fully automated A-RMG cranes to the Madrid-Vicálvaro Intermodal Terminal, marking the final stage of equipment supply for ADIF, Spain’s state-owned railway infrastructure manager.

With all three identical units now delivered and received on site as of March 2026, the terminal’s core automated handling fleet is in place. The cranes, shipped directly from Rikon’s own berth, are now ready for assembly, installation and commissioning.

Designed for fully unmanned operation, the A-RMG cranes are equipped with Rikon’s proprietary Remote Operation System, enabling high-precision control and optimized container handling performance. The technology positions the terminal at the forefront of automation in intermodal logistics.

The Madrid-Vicálvaro project represents a major investment of more than €300 million and is set to become a key logistics hub for central Spain. Once operational, the facility will connect Atlantic and Mediterranean rail corridors and is expected to handle around 150,000 intermodal units annually.

The successful completion of deliveries highlights Rikon’s growing presence in the European market and its capability to execute large-scale infrastructure projects. Building on previous references in Valencia and other major hubs, the company continues to support the development of next-generation, high-efficiency logistics terminals across the region.
