A.P. Moller – Maersk has strengthened its Asia Pacific logistics network with the opening of a new fully automated global and regional distribution centre in Singapore. Known as World Gateway II, the 1.1 million sq. ft. facility marks a major expansion of the company’s contract logistics and e-commerce capabilities in the region.

Backed by the Singapore Government, the site is designed to meet rising demand from companies using Singapore as a strategic distribution hub. It supports both B2B and B2C fulfilment across sectors such as retail, FMCG, lifestyle, wellness and technology. Its location offers strong connectivity, situated close to Tuas Port and Changi Airport, and near Maersk’s existing World Gateway facility.

The warehouse integrates advanced automation technologies, including multi-shuttle systems, ASRS, autonomous case-handling robots and mobile robots. These systems improve efficiency, reduce manual handling and accelerate order fulfilment while maintaining high accuracy.

Maersk has invested over S$200 million in the project, which is already around 70% occupied and is expected to create approximately 500 jobs once fully operational. The facility also features sustainable design elements, achieving LEED Platinum and Green Mark Platinum certifications.

The launch underlines Singapore’s role as a key logistics hub and highlights Maersk’s focus on building resilient, scalable supply chain solutions across fast-growing Asian markets.
