Subsea7 has been awarded a large variation order by Turkish Petroleum Offshore Technology Center AS for work related to the Sakarya gas field development in the Black Sea offshore Türkiye.

The award extends the contract announced in August 2025 for the third phase of the Sakarya development and will support the connection of the recently discovered Goktepe field to the Phase 3 floating production unit.

The scope of work includes engineering, procurement, construction and installation (EPCI) of approximately 20 kilometres of flexible pipelines, 120 kilometres of umbilicals, a rigid production riser and associated subsea equipment in water depths of around 2,200 metres. Project management and engineering activities will be coordinated through Subsea7’s office in Istanbul, while offshore operations are expected to take place in 2027 and 2028.

According to Subsea7, the development will contribute to increasing gas production from the Sakarya field and strengthen Türkiye’s domestic energy supply.

David Bertin, Senior Vice President of Subsea7’s Global Project Centre – East, said the company was proud to continue supporting TP-OTC’s ambitions in the Black Sea through the development of the Goktepe field.

Hulya Ozgur, Business Unit Director for Subsea7 Türkiye, added that the company looks forward to continuing its long-term collaboration with TP-OTC, highlighting the project’s importance for the development and growth of the Turkish energy industry.

Subsea7 classifies a “large” contract as having a value between $300 million and $500 million.
