Swire Projects has completed four project cargo shipments in support of the Warradarge Stage 2 Wind Farm, a major renewable energy expansion located north of Perth in Western Australia. The development forms part of Australia’s broader investment in onshore wind power, aimed at boosting renewable generation capacity and advancing national decarbonisation targets.
Across the four voyages, the company transported 30 sets of wind turbine generators (WTGs) from multiple load ports in China – Tianjin, Taicang, Nantong, and Dongzao – to Henderson, Western Australia. The multi-origin loading strategy required precise coordination to maintain schedule reliability and operational consistency throughout the campaign.
Each turbine features an 84-metre hub height, a 136-metre rotor diameter, and a maximum blade tip height of 152 metres, aligning with the site’s existing infrastructure and technical specifications.
The Stage 2 expansion will see the installation of 30 additional turbines, increasing the wind farm’s total installed capacity from 180 MW to 283 MW. Upon completion in 2027, the project is set to become the largest wind farm in Western Australia, delivering clean energy to approximately 164,000 households.
