Rikon Wins First African Contract in Morocco

Rate this post

Rikon has started the year with a major strategic milestone, securing its first contract on the African continent after winning an international tender for the complex transportation of a Double Jib Level Luffing crane, one of the company’s flagship products.

The project, awarded by Marsa Maroc, the leading port operator in the Kingdom of Morocco, involves transporting the crane in a fully assembled state from the port of Nador to the port of Safi. Moving a crane of this type without disassembly is a highly demanding operation, requiring specialised heavy-transport expertise, careful planning, and proven execution capabilities.

Rikon’s experience in complex transport projects was cited as a key factor behind the contract award. The company’s recent successful shipment of Double Jib Level Luffing cranes to Turkey served as an important reference, demonstrating competence and reliability in large-scale operations.

Rikon also highlighted its participation in TOC Africa 2025 in Tangier as instrumental to the success, providing a platform to present its capabilities directly to Marsa Maroc and other regional stakeholders.

The company noted that securing its first African contract shortly after its active engagement at TOC Africa confirms the effectiveness of its strategy and marks the beginning of a new chapter for its expansion on the continent.

For Rikon, the Morocco project represents both a debut in Africa and a strong demonstration of its logistics expertise. Successful delivery is expected to strengthen the company’s visibility across the region and support further opportunities in heavy-lift machinery transport and port equipment solutions.
