RIKON, the only portal crane manufacturer in the Baltic States, has presented two unique Double Jib Level Luffing Cranes at the Port of Riga. Built for a Turkish customer, the cranes will soon be shipped fully assembled to the port of İsdemir on the Mediterranean Sea, marking a significant new export opportunity for Latvia. The remaining four cranes in the six-unit order will be delivered to the port of Ereğli on the Black Sea.
Standing 55 metres tall and weighing 550 tonnes each, the cranes represent an impressive engineering achievement. Their direct shipment from Riga in fully assembled form requires detailed planning and expert coordination. These fully electric cranes are custom designed for the client’s operational needs and environmental requirements.

During the official presentation, Latvia’s Minister of Economics, Viktors Valainis, highlighted the national importance of the project: “What we are seeing here today is proof that Latvia is capable of creating and delivering truly ambitious projects. These cranes require expertise, high technical precision and flawless quality while competing internationally. It is encouraging that the Port of Riga is home to growing export-oriented companies whose products are competitive and in demand worldwide. I wish the company success as it continues to expand in new export markets.”
Alina Deimonta, Director of Economics at RIKON, reinforced the strategic direction:
