The Wagenborg terminal in Eemshaven has once again demonstrated its strategic role in offshore energy logistics with the successful demobilisation and ongoing mobilisation of Van Oord’s Boreas. The vessel, the largest offshore wind installation unit in Van Oord’s fleet, returned to Eemshaven after completing work at the North Sea Cluster. It is now being prepared for its next mission at Hollandse Kust West, where it will install monopiles in the North Sea.
Wagenborg is providing extensive support for the operation, deploying a range of assets and skilled crews. A key milestone has been the installation of the CAPE VLT tool and the MENCK hammer, critical components for upcoming offshore activities. Wagenborg’s tugboat teams recently positioned the equipment with exceptional precision onto a pontoon beside the Boreas, with the final lift onto the vessel scheduled soon.

This project reinforces Eemshaven’s importance as a hub for offshore energy activities and highlights Wagenborg’s capabilities in complex maritime logistics. With a heritage dating back to 1898, the company continues to deliver reliable, expert support to partners like Van Oord as part of the broader offshore energy transition.
