Hammar Maskin AB is embarking on a new chapter in its distinguished history. After more than fifty years at the helm, founder and owner Bengt-Olof Hammar has announced the sale of the company to TomEnterprise AB — a move that ushers in a new phase focused on sustained growth, innovation, and international expansion.
Founded in 1974 in Olsfors, Sweden, by Bengt-Olof Hammar, the company has evolved into the world’s leading producer of Sideloaders — known globally as Hammarlift — designed for efficient container handling and other heavy-duty lifting applications. Over the decades, Hammar has delivered thousands of units to customers in more than 125 countries, earning an unmatched reputation for robust engineering, technical excellence, and dependable service.

“Hammar has grown through innovation, quality, and a strong focus on our customers,” said Bengt-Olof Hammar. “With TomEnterprise as our new owner, we gain the strength and resources to continue developing the company and further reinforce our leading position worldwide.” He added that all proceeds from the sale will be donated to a foundation supporting humanitarian and aid initiatives.
TomEnterprise AB sees significant potential in building upon Hammar’s solid foundation and international success. Both companies share a long-term vision centered on sustainable growth and value creation within Swedish industry.

“Through his vision and technical expertise, Bengt-Olof Hammar has built a world-leading position in Sideloaders and created a new niche within container handling,” commented Thomas von Koch of TomEnterprise. “Hammar’s impressive growth story is a shining example of Swedish entrepreneurship and innovation. We look forward to collaborating with the Hammar team and the proposed CEO, Peter Cederholm, to continue advancing product development and global expansion.”

Peter Cederholm, who brings extensive international experience from the container and lifting industries — including senior roles at Kalmar Industries and Bromma spreaders — is proposed to assume the role of CEO upon completion of the acquisition.
