Project carrier AAL Shipping has released its 2024 Sustainability Report, aligned with Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) standards, revealing the company met 95% of its Environmental, Social & Governance (ESG) targets globally.
AAL Chairman Heinrich Schoeller opened the report by highlighting the importance of ongoing ESG improvements to secure long-term value for all stakeholders. He credited the company’s three decades of success to strong partnerships with customers, regulators, suppliers, communities, and employees.

The report highlights AAL’s environmental achievements, including a reduction in greenhouse gas emissions compared to 2021, despite fleet expansion and staff growth. This progress is largely due to the introduction of four new ‘Super B-Class’ vessels—featuring methanol-ready engines, next-generation hull coatings, and advanced route optimization—which enable more efficient, lower-emission transport of heavy and complex cargoes.
On the social front, AAL celebrated its diverse workforce supported by professional development programs and community outreach initiatives that enhance employee well-being and local engagement.
In governance, the company reinforced its Due Diligence, Sanctions, and Anti-Corruption policies, maintaining zero incidents of corruption, sanctions breaches, or cybersecurity violations in 2024. AAL is an active member of the Maritime Anti-Corruption Network (MACN).
The report, created with Grow Sustainability Consulting, earned AAL a Silver award at the Asia Sustainability Reporting Awards, marking a significant milestone in its sustainability journey.
