This year marks the 111th anniversary of Hüffermann, a company that has grown from a small wagon workshop in Wildeshausen, Lower Saxony, into a major player in heavy-duty crane and project engineering with over 800 employees. Through strategic investments, particularly in Liebherr cranes, Hüffermann has solidified its position as a full-service provider in the crane industry.
Since 2021, Hüffermann has invested €222 million in Liebherr mobile, crawler, and tower cranes, continuing a partnership that dates back to the 1960s. Managing Partner Daniel Janssen credits Liebherr’s cutting-edge technology for enabling Hüffermann’s rapid expansion into large-scale projects. “This growth is only possible with partners like Liebherr, who consistently deliver modern equipment that meets market needs,” Janssen said.
Hüffermann first entered the large-crane segment in 2014 with the purchase of the Liebherr LTM 1350-6.1. Over the years, the company has expanded its fleet with models like the LTM 1750-9.1 and the LG 1750, as well as crawler cranes like the LR 1750/2 and the LR 11000, which offers a lifting capacity of up to 1,000 tonnes. In 2021, Hüffermann added 250 Liebherr tower cranes to its portfolio, reinforcing its ability to serve industries like energy and infrastructure.
The company’s growth strategy also includes a strong commitment to training. Hüffermann’s crane academy in Wildeshausen offers practical and theoretical training, with Liebherr’s e-learning modules providing valuable resources for ongoing education.
Today, Hüffermann operates across 12 locations in Germany, having acquired several established crane companies since 2018. Janssen emphasizes the company’s dedication to ethical business practices, environmental responsibility, and employee safety, which are at the core of Hüffermann’s continued success.
