High Peak Steels Invests £1 Million in New Fleet

Glossop-based High Peak Steels has invested £1 million in seven new Scania P280 Rigid Dropside 18-tonne delivery wagons, increasing their fleet to 11 vehicles. This move is part of their growth strategy, aiming to maintain their 98% on-time delivery rate.

The new wagons are equipped with advanced telematics, live tracking, and state-of-the-art adjustable load bearers. Managing Director Mark Thornley emphasized the importance of reliability and driver comfort in their decision to choose Scania.

In addition to the new vehicles, High Peak Steels has expanded their warehousing by 20,000 square feet and upgraded their warehouse management systems to better meet the increasing demands for specialist engineering steel.

Thornley highlighted their commitment to meeting customer needs, stating, “Our new fleet and warehousing strategy demonstrate our dedication to providing reliable, high-quality steel products and services.”

This investment is part of an ongoing program to enhance their operational capabilities and support their diverse client base across industries such as automotive, aerospace, and renewables.
