Eiffage, via its subsidiary Eiffage Énergie Systèmes, has announced the acquisition of EQOS, a prominent European player in the energy infrastructure realm. The agreement, signed today, paves the way for Eiffage to acquire 100% ownership of EQOS.
EQOS specializes in energy transmission and distribution, telecommunications, and rail sectors. With a revenue of €459 million in 2023 and employing nearly 1,700 individuals, EQOS operates across Europe, primarily in Germany and Austria, boasting 43 sites.
This strategic move expands Eiffage Énergie Systèmes’ foothold in Germany’s thriving energy infrastructure market, vital to both energy and digital transitions. The acquisition, subject to approval by European competition authorities, is anticipated to conclude by late 2024, financed through available cash.
Eiffage Énergie Systèmes is already active in Germany with four major subsidiaries: Elomech, Schwarz and Grantz, Nat, and Salvia Group (acquired and consolidated in early 2024). These entities collectively employed nearly 3,000 individuals and generated €630 million in revenue in 2023.
With this latest transaction, Eiffage Énergie Systèmes solidifies its position as a key player in the German energy sector, establishing a comprehensive presence across all relevant markets.
Furthermore, Eiffage’s presence in Germany extends beyond energy with Eiffage Génie Civil and Eiffage Métal, jointly accumulating revenue surpassing €1.5 billion in 2023.
