VINCI has completed a €50 million investment in NatPower SA, a renewable energy platform established in 2019, with operations mainly in Italy, Great Britain, and the United States.
This investment involves acquiring a 10% stake in the company from its founder, Fabrizio Zago, and the Tyrus Capital fund, along with convertible bonds that could increase VINCI’s ownership and potentially grant it control over NatPower SA.
As part of the agreement, VINCI gains priority access to acquiring projects in the advanced development phase initiated by NatPower SA.
In addition to the investment, VINCI and NatPower SA have agreed to collaborate on renewable energy projects, primarily focusing on onshore wind and solar developments in the United States. This collaboration will build upon NatPower SA’s existing portfolio, which includes approximately 1.2 GW of capacity and around 2 GW in preliminary stages. A joint venture, controlled by VINCI’s subsidiary Cobra IS, will be formed in the United States to facilitate this collaboration.
Furthermore, leveraging NatPower SA’s expertise, VINCI aims to explore opportunities in energy storage projects, particularly in Great Britain. This strategic partnership positions VINCI to further expand its presence in the renewable energy sector.
