Engineered Rigging has expanded its rental-ready equipment fleet with the acquisition of an additional Enerpac SBL500 Hydraulic Gantry. Designed to support infrastructure projects in diverse sectors including ports, railways, power, and industrial plants, the SBL500 fills the gap where traditional cranes are impractical and overhead options are limited.
Featuring a 500-ton capacity, the hydraulic gantry boasts four legs equipped with internal three-stage double-acting hydraulic cylinders. Its octagonal boom design ensures robustness, while fixed boom and self-propelled steel wheels enable smooth movement along skid tracks. Each lifting tower comes complete with safety features such as a counterbalance valve, stroke sensor, and pressure transducers, all integrated with the Intelli-Lift Wireless Control System.
For enhanced safety and efficiency, trained technicians can remotely operate the lifting towers using the Intelli-Lift control system. This system allows independent or synchronized operation of up to four towers, with features including load and operating height readings, overload alarms, and synchronized lifting, lowering, and travel between selected towers. An emergency stop circuit adds an extra layer of safety.
Christopher E. Cox, P.E., founder and president of Engineered Rigging, emphasized the significance of this addition to their rental fleet. “The Enerpac SBL500 underscores our dedication to providing customers with top-tier heavy lifting solutions for their most demanding projects,” Cox stated. “As we anticipate increased bidding on large infrastructure projects in 2024, we remain poised to support our customers with reliable equipment rentals.”
