Liebherr has inaugurated a new assembly hall dedicated to the production of battery-electric wheel loaders at its Bischofshofen plant. The facility, constructed over ten months at a cost exceeding €2.2 million, signifies Liebherr’s commitment to eco-friendly machinery. The hall boasts a nearly 1000 m² production area, capable of producing up to 500 electric wheel loaders annually.
Located separately from conventional assembly lines to ensure stringent safety standards, the new production area prioritizes the safety of employees handling high-voltage battery systems. Specialized training equips workers with the necessary skills for electrical technology tasks.
Employing virtual reality design, Liebherr has optimized the assembly line layout for efficiency and space utilization. Expansive windows and modern amenities enhance the working environment, while energy-saving features like solar panels and district heating underscore Liebherr’s sustainability efforts.
The flagship electric wheel loader, L 507 E, showcases Liebherr’s innovative prowess. Based on the proven L 507 Stereo model, it integrates a high-voltage battery system for powerful performance with zero local CO2 emissions and minimal noise. The modular battery design allows for extended run times, catering to diverse operational needs.
With a focus on ergonomics and efficiency, Liebherr has equipped the assembly hall with specialized tools and wireless technology to streamline production processes. Real-time monitoring ensures optimal performance, reflecting Liebherr’s dedication to quality and innovation in the realm of electric construction machinery.
